Hot spot is the first stage of a blister. Recognising this stage can help prevent the blister progressing to the next stages of a bubble blister and a roof off blister. The skin area of a hotspot will feel warm and slightly uncomfortable, stop any activity at this point and apply an island dressing that is the appropriate size for the location and size of the hotspot, smoothing the dressing with your fingers, which warms the adhesive and helps it adhere to the skin.
Apply the 2Toms Blistershield powder to the edges of the island dressing to prevent the edges rolling.
You can add padding to protect the area, and Engo patches inside your footwear to reduce friction.
